About M2 IVF Specialist Hospital
It all began on December 1, 1997, when two young individuals met as freshmen at the University of Lagos, Akoka, studying medicine and surgery. Sharing similar backgrounds, ambitions, and philosophies, they quickly connected. Their bond grew over six years as they lived together as medical students.
Both qualified in 2004 and completed their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in different states in Nigeria. In 2006, they reunited to join the Lagos State government as junior doctors. Dr. Moses Mafowosofo worked at the outpatient clinic of Lagos State General Hospital, while Dr. Olusanjo MOSES served at Lagos Island Maternity as a medical officer.
Dr. Mafowosofo later traveled abroad for postgraduate training in family medicine, and Dr. Moses completed postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynecology in Nigeria. By 2024, after over a decade of specialization at home and abroad, they decided to launch M2 Specialist Hospital in Surulere, Lagos.
M2 stands for Moses and Moses—Dr. Mafowosofo’s first name and Dr. Moses’ last name. M2 Specialist Hospital addresses numerous health challenges in Nigeria. Dr. Olusanjo’s passion for assisted reproductive medicine led to the establishment of a state-of-the-art IVF lab, tackling reproductive health challenges in a country where childbearing is highly valued. Dr. Olusanjo believes that no woman should be called “barren.”
